Living in the dorms has been a great decision. I was really nervous to move in at first because I did not know my roommates. I can be shy when I don't know people that well, so having to move in with random people was scary. I couldn't be more happy that I decided to do it though. My roommates are amazing people, and I am so glad I got to meet them. I have built a great community because am on campus and it is so easy to meet new people. Living on campus gives me the opportunity to go to all of the campus events. I think living on campus makes for great memories and it gives students a chance to branch out. I would definitely recommend it to anyone on the fence about it.

Hi, my name is Kaylee Hess and I have lived in housing for both years I’ve been here at Western. I have lived in 3 of the buildings in that time so I definitely have experiences in many of the different housing options offered. I’ve lived in Rocky building, Snowy, and now Wind River. I’ve loved my experience here but I definitely prefer Snowy or Wind River as there is much more space and a living room area to have people over. However, I also loved Rocky because there are always friends and students playing games in the commons area downstairs if you ever want to socialize. I am also on the basketball team and all my roommates are basketball players, so we always have people coming in and out and we have a lot of big get togethers. Our apartment in White Mountain has been perfect for that. The security system in housing is also very nice as only students/workers with a keycard can get in, and that helps create a safe environment. The resident assistants I’ve had are always very kind and are quick to provide us with anything we may need. But overall, it’s been a great experience and I love living here at Western!
